SMPTE Cables

LEMO’s range of panel-mount SMPTE internal hybrid distribution breakouts provide a streamlined solution for connecting to standard fibre optic connectors and 6-pin AMP power connectors. Engineered for easy integration into rack panels, splice trays, adapters, and wall boxes, these assemblies simplify installation while maintaining exceptional reliability.

The FXW and FMW series feature two single-mode fibres, two 22 AWG wires, and two 18 AWG tinned-copper conductors housed within a flexible PVC jacket and protected by a rugged braided sleeve. Designed to combine power, control, and fibre in a single assembly, they deliver robust performance for professional video and audio transmission. Fully compliant with ARIB and SMPTE standards.

Assemblies are available in both plug and receptacle configurations, with ST, LC, or SC fibre connectors, and offered in a range of standard lengths.

Fibre Systems offers pre-terminated opticalCON DUO SMPTE chassis assemblies featuring a choice of SC , LC, ST or bare fibres for a straightforward plug-and-play installation. These solutions enable efficient breakout of opticalCON SMPTE Fibre Only installations.

Fibre Systems’ internal fibre-only breakout cable series features LEMO Fixed Plugs (FXW) or Fixed Sockets (EDW) that transition to two 900 µm singlemode fibres. These breakout assemblies are certified to meet or exceed SMPTE specifications, making them an excellent choice for SMPTE rack panels, splice trays, adapters, and in-studio installations where a tight bend radius is essential.

HF-FUW & HF-FMW LEMO fibre camera cable assemblies comply with 304M & 311M SMPTE standards. With LEMO connectors for strong signals in tough broadcast settings, these cables include power, control, and fibre optic lines for video and audio. Assemblies are machine-polished, tested for <.55dB return loss, and can be custom ordered in any length or configuration.

Fibre Systems offers pre-terminated opticalCON DUO SMPTE chassis assemblies featuring copper wires connected to our standard BP3 style 6-pin AMP connector for straightforward plug-and-play installation. These solutions enable efficient breakout of opticalCON SMPTE power conductors to 6-pin AMP connectors, facilitating streamlined and space-saving installations.  Other connector options are available on request.

Designed for permanent installations where a UL riser rating is required, this solution enables reliable connection from fixed wall box outlets to control room patch panels. It supports setups with two or three cameras in a single location, reducing infrastructure by allowing all connections to be run through a single cable.
